In practice of medicine, style of practice and areas of emphasis often determine patient satisfaction and outcome. There should be 4 components in every office visit, namely history, physical examination, diagnostic impression, and recommended treatment. In my experience, satisfaction and outcome are enhanced:
- when history of the medical problem is comprehensive;
- when the skin and associated relevant examinations are thorough;
- when the diagnostic considerations are sorted out, enabling proof of diagnosis;
- when the treatment options are presented, then explained, allowing the patient to understand the treatment option ultimately recommended.

“I feel that it is important to practice medicine in a cooperative environment, wherein I can present my finding and subject information to my patients, and then, with their input, come to treatment decisions from the available options. I also believe, that on occasion, a dose of humor can be a good medicine.
